The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) coordinates the work of the 14 UN specialized agencies, ten functional commissions and five regional commissions, receives reports from nine UN funds and programmes (see reverse) and issues policy recommendations to the UN system and to Member States. Under the UN Charter, ECOSOC is responsible for promoting higher standards of living, full employment, and economic and social progress; identifying solutions to international economic, social and health problems; facilitating international cultural and educational cooperation; and encouraging universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. ECOSOC's purview extends over 70 per cent of the human and financial resources of the entire UN system

Siddarth Bandam
ECOSOC CHAIR
Siddharth is someone who over the past 5 years, has been an active part of the southern mun circuit. A quote which he always lives by and preach is “Do what’s right not what’s easy - Roy T”.
Madhavi is currently studying her Bachelors at St Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad. She is an MUNer, a singer and a 2X TedX Speaker. She is a trained Carnatic classical vocalist who has given 100+ shows all over Hyderabad over the last 12 years.
Having 3 years of experience in MUNning, she firmly believes that every student has a unique talent and all they need is the right guidance. Keeping this in mimd, she has mentored students right from the 6th Grade, and has helped them build their confidence in all possible ways.
She looks forward to serving as the Vice Chairperson of the ECOSOC at EMUN.
